Fall shows and the album

Hey guys

I wanted to tell you about some Fall shows coming up.

Looking forward to doing some shows with my good friend David Celia (www.davidcelia.com), who I admire so much as a musician. We’ll be doing some shows around Ontario.

And I’m also opening a bunch of shows for Craig Cardiff (www.craigcardiff.com), who I also admire, and who’s album I’m currently working on. I always learn a lot when I play with Craig. He’s an amazing performer.

And I’ll be playing some shows with Peter Katz (www.peterkatz.com) too, who is such a hard-working musician it’s so inspiring.

I’ve started to book shows for the US in November. So far I’ve got NYC and Philadelphia (Phoenixville). In Philadelphia I’ll be opening for Jim Boggia (www.jimboggia.com), who is such an amazing musician and songwriter, and a great dude. Really excited about that show.

And I’m working on getting a lot more touring happening in the next few months, and with some luck and hard work and optimism, I’ll be playing a lot in 2011. I can’t wait to play for all of you a number of times!

And as for the album. It’s finished. It’s mastered. We’re starting work on the package design, and I’ve decided to finally self-release it and do it with commitment. Part of the reason there’s been some time between the completion of recording (March 2010) and this decision to get things rolling is that I’ve been thinking about the different ways to release the album and pondering the possibility of a record label working with me. But I’ve decided now that I will not wait for that. If that happens in the new year, that would be awesome (if it’s a good fit), but there is still a lot I can do on my own (with the help of friends and colleagues) to get the album out there and to tour the record. I want to go the grassroots way with commitment. Commitment is very important to me these days.

So I hope to have physical copies in my hand by the end of the year, and the album will be available digitally much sooner than that. How’s that?!

Talk to you guys soon and thanks so much for continuing to check in on me and support my music. I couldn’t do it without you!

Love,
Mike
